    Sunday Show Scorecard

    By KateH | February 16, 2009

It’s Monday ladies, which means it’s time for the Sunday Show Scorecard. This is where we put our favorite Sunday shows to the test to see who is representing the voting majority. So where were the Janes this weekend? Let’s see…

    First Place:

     Chris Matthews Show

tiny-jane.bmptiny-jane.bmpAs usual, Chris Matthews had two ladies on his four-guest panel. We’re loving that CMS always gives the Janes equal representation! NBC’s Savannah Guthrie and BBC’s Katty Kay joined Newsweek’s Howard Fineman and The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan for this week’s discussion. Two Janes and another first place finish for CMS!

     Tied for Second Place:

     This Week

tiny-jane.bmpABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos ties for second place this week with one of the four guests being female. Rep. Maxine Waters joined Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. Peter King for a debate on the stimulus plan. Not bad, George. We give you one Jane.

    Meet the Press

tiny-jane.bmpJoining George in second place is Meet the Press. MTP had five guests on its panel this week including one woman. The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel joined Obama Senior Advisor David Axelrod, National Journal’s Ron Brownstein, the Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson, and Politico’s Roger Simon for yesterday’s show. One Jane for MTP.

    Tied for Last Place:

     Face the Nation

no-janes.jpgOur Sunday boyfriend broke our hearts this weekend. Bob Scheiffer hosted three guests on Face the Nation and none of them were Janes. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, Sen. Richard Shelby and Rep. Barney Franks were on hand for day’s debate. Sorry, Bob, you know the rules. No ladies means no Janes for you.

    Fox News Sunday

no-janes.jpgFox News Sunday also fell in last place this week with no Janes on the three-guest panel. David Axelrod made his second appearance of the day along with Google Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt and Moody’s Economy.com’s Mark Zandi. Three weeks in a row FNS? We expect better from you. No Janes for Fox News Sunday.
