    Sunday Show Scorecard

    By KateH | February 10, 2009

Mondays mean it’s time for you to go back to work and for  your favorite shows to get their grades from CJP’s Sunday Show Scorecard.   Which ones are earning their paychecks, and which ones need to work overtime when it comes to booking guests who look a little more like the Janes?

Let’s see how they did this week:

    First Place:

    tiny-jane.bmptiny-jane.bmp“The Chris Matthews Show”

Chris Matthews earns two Janes and first place this week with two women on his four-guest panel. NBC’s Andrea Mitchell and NPR’s Michelle Norris discussed who’s to blame for the bad economy along with Time’s Michael Duffy and the New York Times’ David Brooks. Congrats CMS!

    Second Place:

    “Face the Nation”

tiny-jane.bmptiny-jane2.bmpOur Sunday boyfriend, Bob Schieffer, redeemed himself this week with one woman on his three-guest panel. Christina Romer from the Council of Economic Advisors appeared on “Face the Nation” with Sen. John McCain and Sen. Kent Conrad earning FTN one and a half Jane’s and second place. We heart you, Bob!

    Tied for Third Place:

    “Meet the Press”

tiny-jane.bmpWe have a tie for second place this week. David Gregory hosted Sen. John Ensign, Rep. Barney Frank, Rep. Mike Pence and the Washington Posts’ Tom Ricks along with one Jane, Sen. Claire McCaskill. One Jane for MTP and a step up from last week.

    “This Week”

tiny-jane.bmpABC’s “This Week” also hosted a five-guest panel including ABC’s Claire Shipman earning it one Jane. Other guests included National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers, Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele, Former GOP Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich and ABC’s George Will.

    Last Place:

    “Fox News Sunday”

no-janes.jpgFor the second week in a row Fox New Sunday takes last place on our scorecard. National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers (also going for two appearances this week), Rep. John Cornyn and Rep. Chris Van Hollen joined Chris Wallace for this week’s discussion. We’re huge fans of Chris Wallace, but no ladies gets him no Janes.
