    CJP’s New Year’s Political Predictions

    By CJP | January 6, 2009

    Now that the new year has officially started in Washington, CJP humbly submits our political predictions for 2009.  These aren’t necessarily things we WANT to see happen (esp. #6), but after conversations with some of Capitol Hill’s insideriest insiders, we’re calling ‘em like we see ‘em.  Here’s what our crystal ball is telling us about the year ahead…

    1. Afghanistan will become Obama’s Iraq.  Victory difficult to define, difficult to declare;
    2. A woman will be appointed to the Supreme Court;
    3. Obama will further anger the gay community by shelving (for now) his promise to repeal Don’t Ask/ Don’t Tell;
    4. The District of Columbia will get a vote in Congress, although Supreme Court may have something to say about it;
    5. Paparazzi will set up shop in D.C. as Michelle Obama becomes a style icon.  The Secret Service will not be amused;
    6. The Jo Bros will be invited to perform at the White House, will sing “Burnin’ Up” in the East Room.

    That’s what we’ve got for now, but check back here on December 31st to see if we were right, wrong or downright psychic.

    What did we miss?  Let us know…

    One Response to “CJP’s New Year’s Political Predictions”

    1. William Glenn Johnson Says:

      The electorate will finally discover that Mr. Obama is much more style than substance. I’m waiting for his explanation of just how the Obama economic stimulus package of a $500 tax credit is going to be more effective than the Bush $600 tax rebate. In his first 100 days Mr. Obama will win the presidential trifecta: He will disappoint the right and the left and the news media. And, when the media honeymoon ends, the media just may finally implode.
