Neither have we! Â We know that at this historic time, we've got to keep our eyes on the ball and the Janes in the know. Â So here's your world in 90 seconds. Â We like to call it the Morning Jane... Top Domestic Story:Â Â Changing of the Guard in Washington
Top International Story:  The President of Sudan, Omar Hassan al-Bashir, has announced an immediate ceasefire in Darfur.  Although previous ceasefires have failed, and rebels have not yet put down their weapons, the announcement may spur international action in the region, which would be v. helpful.  [BBC] Looking for Michelle Obama's red, White House-visit dress with 3/4 sleeves?  It's a design by Chicago-based Maria Pinto, who predicts of the inaugural dress, "I see her sleek but with more froth.  I don’t see her in a big, poufy ball skirt."  Loves it.  [WWD] More from Jennifer Aniston's upcoming "Vogue" interview.  Re: John Mayer.  "Did you ever think Claudia Schiffer and David Copperfield made sense?"  Loves that, too.  [Perez Hilton]  |

Good morning, Janes!  Have you developed a little news fatigue?  A certain ennui for all things political? Â

Yo Citizen Jane,
There were a number of propositions voted on across the country during the Nov. 4 election alongside the presidential ballot. Two California propositions are creating controversy. In a sad irony, Californians voted to extend rights to chickens in a landslide vote, while at the same time took away rights of gay citizens by voting no for gay marriage. It’s similiar to the story a few years ago about a woman jogging in southern California who was killed by a mountain lion. Remember? Well, the fund for the slain cougar’s orphaned pups received more donations than the fund for the woman’s orphaned children. A good article on the controversial propositions is on Ethic Soup blog at:
