Good morning, Janes! Â As loyal readers know, CJP doesn’t like to work on weekends. Â It just doesn’t agree with our constitutions. Â However, we do make an exception the weekend before Election Day, when America will be choosing the next team of rivals who will be the caretakers of the Constitution. Â
If that’s not reason enough to work on a Saturday, we don’t know what is. Â But before we get started this weekend, let’s take a look back on the week that was at CJP, when we focused every way we know how on getting the Janes ready for November 4th:
- We told you where to find your sample ballot before going to the polls (be prepared, Janes!);
- We sent you to Project Vote Smart to find out about the ballot initiatives you’ll be voting on this year (this is REALLY important);Â
- We continued our countdown of the “CJP’s Top 10 Senate Races to Watch” with #9- Georgia, #8- Maine, #7- New Mexico, #6-Colorado, #5- Oregon, and #4- New Hampshire.
- We broke the news that Sen. Ted Stevens (#10 on the countdown) has been convicted on seven felony counts, BUT he can still serve in the Senate, AND vote for himself on Election Day;
- And we showed you Obama’s 30-minute infomercial, and McCain’s 90-seconds of Joe.Â
- And gave you a final Fact-Check Friday before the election, and yes, you’re hearing some honkers this week.
That’s it for now, Janes. Â But come back to CJP this weekend for more of our Senate race countdown, updates on the CJP “Candidate Compare” charts, and whatever else you need to be the smartest women picking the next leaders of the Free World.
