 Treasury Sec. Hank Paulson and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke will testify on Capitol Hill today beginning at 9:30 a.m.. You can watch the excitement LIVE on C-SPAN3 by clicking HERE.
Paulson and Bernanke will describe the bailout and try to give lawmakers cover for voting for it, as they likely will. They'll paint a picture of the economy so dire that a "no" vote would be downright irresponsible. Because the Senators can't prove that's not true, and they know they'll probably vote for it in the end, look for vocal disgust, shock and indignation, with plenty of talk about "Main Street" vs. Wall Street.
Don't panic if you hear something scary, gals. That's just the way it works up there.
