    Friday Morning Jane

    By CJP | March 7, 2008

monkey-politics.jpg Good morning, Janes! We know that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, but nobody talks about what March looks like in the middle. For the Democrats, it's looking a lot like a wild spider money with an attitude problem and a chemical dependency. We feel for anybody with a dog in that fight, but it sure makes for great viewing from the safety of our shatterproof glass-encased CJP Safari Mobile. So sit back, relax and get ready to be the smartest women taking a tour through the jungle and seeing the party animals in their natural habitat. Here's your Morning Jane.... Top Domestic Story: Campaign 2008
    • Ushering in a new dawn of sandbox politics, Michigan and Florida Democrats say they want a "do-over," Howard Dean says he's not paying the $35 million do-over bill, and recess isn't over for six months. [Washington Post]
    • Who wins between between the McCainocrats and Obamacans? The Pew Research Center says McCain gets 14 percent of Democrats, while Obama gets 8 percent of Republicans with a wandering eye. Obama gets R's with a beef with the war, while McCain says he's gunning for "Republicans, Democrats, independents, Libertarians, vegetarians and Trotskyites." [Washington Times]
    • As you go through life, remember this- never trust a Scotsman with a pencil. Had Obama adviser Samantha Power listened to CJP, she would not have said this about Hillary Clinton to "The Scotsman" newspaper: "You just look at her and think, 'Ergh'...She's a monster, too – that is off the record – she is stooping to anything." [The Scotsman via USA Today]
Top International Story: A report from PriceWaterhouseCoopers says, "The global centre of economic gravity is already shifting to China, India and other large emerging economies," and that China's and India's economies will over take the U.S. by 2050. Whose side is PriceWaterhouseCoopers on? [Times of India] New York police say that there is no connection to yesterday's blast in Times Square and letters delivered to Capitol Hill with a picture of a man in front of the targeted recruiting station and a note saying, "We did it." CJP would have fallen for that one. [NY Post] The Pentagon has told the Google Earth nerds that they can no longer drive onto U.S. military bases, film buildings and then provide 360-degree images of military facilities, saying the practice is a "potential threat." Google Earth images have reportedly been used to plan several terrorist attacks around the world, including in Israel and London. [BBC] After weeks of mocking Lisa Marie Presley for being fat, the "Daily Mail" now reveals that she's really preggers. Congrats, LMP! And "Daily Mail," what happened to assuming that any famous woman with a tummy is pregnant? You've disappointed CJP. [Daily Mail]
