Yes, it is unfortunate. It takes the democratic process out of the polling stations and puts it into back rooms where, at the risk of sounding like a cynic, I’m afraid that promises are made and hands are shaken (and, where I’m from, barbecue is eaten).

Another thought about superdelegates: does Hillary really think that, if she and Obama enter the convention with him in the lead with electoral delegates, the superdelegates will go against the “will of the people?”

Now we will enjoy watching Hillary and Obama for seven weeks, discredeting each other, calling each other names and mouthing the obvious dislake for each other. One of them will survive the onslaught and then John McCain will take over and beat the leaving hell out of her/him.

It is quite clear to me that the Democrats are responsible for this mess. If they can’t run their own party in a fair and efficient manner then how do they expect to run the country? This is indeed the party of Howard Dean, John Kerry, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. How can we be surprised. Bobby Kennedy and Harry Truman must be turning over in their graves. The 2008 Democratic Convention will make Chicago in 1968 look like a sit-com. Reality is about to hit the Democratic party.
