“Hill could still pull it out in the Dairy State, but it would be a major upset. The extra day in Milwaukee (because of classic Wisconsin winter weather) helped her. She chowed down on some eggs at a diner and picked up some hot peppers at a revered Latin grocery store on the south side, both of which helped voters see her more as a regular person, and not the image that’s been created for her over the last 15 years. “I was at a breakfast yesterday and a couple of “undecideds” could be heard in the bathroom commenting on how much more personable she was than she seemed on TV. “We did have Michele Obama in Milwaukee yesterday with a big turnout. Temps were dropping and snow had been falling, but she still got 300+ people for a mid-day rally, without the candidate, on a Monday. Barack is big in Milwaukee, that’s for sure. “Since we have open primaries and lots of Independents in our state, many Republicans are threatening to vote for D’s since their nominee seems all locked up. The City of Milwaukee has ordered extra ballots in anticipation of unprecedented voter turnout. “I’m going to predict that Barack wins Wisconsin,but it’s going to be back and forth all night as precincts report…” |
