**Announcing…The 2008 CJP Stump-Speech Film Festival**

You know how they say politics is showbiz for ugly people? Having spent a half-life in politics, we have to admit, the lights, cameras and bloated entourages of political campaigns do evoke the best and worst of Hollywood, all in a pair of wrinkled Dockers and a short-sleeved dress shirt (Iowa State Fair, we’re looking at you!).

But what if a scrappy political site for women put together footage of the contenders’ stump speeches on the trail, boiled them down and then put them up for all the Janes to see?

It would be the 2008 CitizenJane Politics Stump-Speech Film Festival, a.k.a. Sundance for Ugly People. We’re bringing you all the snow, furry collared-hoods and see-for-yourself speechifying that Iowa and New Hampshire had to offer, but without the freezing temperatures and rental car bills.

We’ll post these throughout the week and then leave links up for your to see until we get a fresh dose from the candidates, or until they drop out of the race- whichever comes first.    Janes- the video is there on my browser, is it not on yours’? Although I did have to wait a sec, which was most certainly caused by the censors and orbs.
