Marie Claire Exposes a Lot This Month, Including Election Myths

    By CJP | December 19, 2007

marie-claire-cover.jpg This month’s “Marie Claire” not only gives us an eyeful of Christina Aguilera’s pregnant belly, it also has a series of articles on women voting, women running for office and women talking politics– right up CJP’s alley.

The lead feature busts five widely held myths about the 2008 elections. Melinda Henneberger writes that, despite rumors to the contrary, the Democrats do not necessarily have it in the bag, women do not vote strictly on the issues and that affect us, and that the candidates’ spouses actually do matter. [Myths About the Election Busted]In another article, she always writes about the reasons women run for office less frequently than men, including the fact that we don’t like to fail. Sound familar? [Why Aren't You Running for Office?]

Check out the articles now, and come back later today for the CJP interview with Melinda Henneberger, a longtime reporter and recent book author. She’s the go-to gal on women voters, having written an entire book about them, and she’s talking to us today. Stay tuned, Janes!
